Story

Scott approached us with his Chevy Express wanting to pack a punch into a small space. Rather than a life on the road, Scott dreamed of the weekend and week-long adventures with his son.

To meet Scott’s needs we designed a practical layout that maximized the space available as well as having extra rear seats for his son. Scott decided to add two rear seats to give the option to carry up to four people, meaning two adventure buddies could become four. With the living space being limited on the size we made these seats removable and added swivel mounts to the two front seats to open up the space.

Being a keen surfer Scott wanted to be able to be off grid while in search of the perfect surf break. This meant that having a reliable battery bank was necessary. We decided to go with a 200 amp hour AGM battery system, 1000 watt inverter, VSR dual battery charger, 40 amp solar controller and 200 watts of solar. This was paired with a 40 litre dometic 12 volt fridge and a portable 20 litre water tank. Lastly we added a Lagun swivel table with two mounts, one for over the bed for those lazy mornings waiting for the surf to pick up, and the other in the main living area for more formal dining.

Scott wanted a rustic cabin look for his aesthetic, opting for a wooden finish on the majority of the van. We used knotty pine for the walls, roof and cabinetry and tried to keep the natural wood colours throughout.

REVIEW From Scott:

“We love our adventure camper van with all the little touches.

Dan is fantastic to work with and he helped with great advice from concept to finish.

Friendly, fair and goes out of his way to help you get what you really want.

Would recommend him to everyone and I’d hire him again for our next/bigger project”
